15 Min•Stress Management
Are you grappling with stress and anxiety? Do you want to know about the Art of Stress Management? How can spirituality help conquer stress and anxiety?
In this video, Swami Mukundananda has beautifully explained the art of stress management. At the beginning of the lecture, Swamiji sheds light on the cause of stress through real-world examples. He mentions that the cause of stress can be infinite. But how we respond to a stressful situation is completely in our hand.
Everybody goes through difficulty at some point or other in their lives. However, we should not become internally stressed as difficulties provide us with opportunities to grow. But then why do we feel stressed in the first place? What is the root cause of stress? To answer this question, Swamiji explains that attachment to results is the cause of stress. It is because we want a specific result or outcome when we put effort. When we do not get what we expect in a particular situation, we feel stressed. However, we must remember that the results are not in our hand, which could arise due to a variety of factors including our present effort, our past Karma, efforts of others, the general Karma of the place, sheer chance, will of God etc. Therefore, we must focus on our own effort instead of worrying about the results. Continuing with his explanation, Swamiji discusses the art of work as taught by Shree Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. By focusing on our own effort, which is in our hand, and not getting attached to the results, we will remain stress free.
